American Music Theater – Classic Crooners – Wednesday August 6
After we enjoy lunch at the wildly famous Willow Valley Resort, we’ll go to AMT to enjoy Classic Crooners. This show celebrates all the iconic songsters like Bing Crosby, Perry Como and Rosemary Clooney. It will recreate the infamous evenings with The Rat Pack when Frank, Dean and Sammy owned Las Vegas. They had the looks, the voices and the bands to boot... and so does AMT with an orchestra that would make Tommy Dorsey proud. Relax and remember the smooth sounds, the larger than life entertainers, the Classic Crooners.
“Phantom” at the New Candlelight Theater – Wednesday September 17
The New Candlelight Theater, located in historic Ardentown, DE, just minutes from downtown Wilmington and a short drive from Philadelphia, combines fine dining with superb musical theater entertainment. After enjoying a bountiful buffet, we will be treated to “Phantom”, a soaring musical based on Gaston Leroux’s 1910 novel “The Phantom of the Opera”. “Phantom” features a breathtaking score and a timeless love story. We will depart the Mohler Center at 9:00 am. After a lovely lunch and show, we’ll return to the Mohler center at approximately 6:00 pm. Cost for the trip is $90.00 for members, $110 for non-members. Reservations are required by Friday August 15.
Philly Dine-Around – Wednesday October 8
Let’s see if it really is more fun in Philly! We will depart the Mohler Center at 7:00 am en route to Philadelphia for a day of eating, touring, eating, boating, eating, and walking. Did I mention we will be eating? We will visit Lemon Hill, former home to Declaration of Independence signer Robert Morris. Then, we’ll board a trolley for a historic tour with a snack stop. Then on to Mummer Museum for soup and salad, followed by a 4 star entree aboard the Moshulu, a tall ship docked at the seaport. Following our lunch and ship tour, we’ll stop by the Termini Brothers Italian Bakery for tour and dessert. Cost for the trip is $115.00 for members, $130 for non-members. Reservations are required by Friday September 5.
